🎄FISH OF THE WEEK🎄 The Yellow & Purple Wras 🎄FISH OF THE WEEK🎄

The Yellow & Purple Wrasse is also known as the White or Four Spot wrasse, and originates from the invertebrate-rich waters of Sri Lanka. The Juvenile form is yellow and white/purple in coloration. The top half of the fish is yellow, while the lower half is white to purple. As the fish matures, the yellow coloration is lost to a beautiful pink coloration. Exercise caution if including this species into a reef aquarium, as it may feed upon feather dusters, ornamental shrimp and other similar invertebrates.
The Yellow & Purple Wrasse requires a 50-gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of live rock and a few inch deep sand bed which it will use for hiding and grazing. This species is a known jumper, and a tight fitting canopy is a must. It will eat fireworms and pyramidellid snails, protecting corals and clams. In addition, it may also eat feather dusters, wild shrimp, tubeworms, and flatworms. However, they should not bother polyps, mushrooms or corals.
The Yellow & Purple Wrasse wrasse diet should include vitamin enriched frozen mysis shrimp, vitamin enriched frozen brine shrimp, and other meaty foods along with a high quality marine flake and marine pellet food.
🐡SPOTLIGHT🐡 The Arothron Dog Face Puffer, a 🐡SPOTLIGHT🐡

The Arothron Dog Face Puffer, also known as the Blackspotted Puffer, gets its name from its resemblance to canines. It changes appearance during different stages of life. While in the gray phase, it is gray with black markings around the mouth, eyes, and dorsal fin. The pectoral fins have a yellow appearance. The half-yellow phase is denoted by a yellow underbelly and dark gray overcoat, while the face looks similar to the gray phase. It may also have black spots over the body, which may be gray or yellow. It very rarely changes phases while living in an aquarium.
The Arothron Dog Face Puffer lacks pelvic fins, but is very maneuverable, using its pectoral, dorsal, and anal fins. Instead of "teeth," it has a fused beak-like structure which it uses to crush prey.
A 100 gallon or larger, fish-only, carnivorous aquarium is suitable. The Arothron Dog Face Puffer makes a great addition to these tanks with its great personality and unusual appearance. It will eat invertebrates found in a reef tank. It tolerates other Puffers that are not more aggressive than itself. It is shy at first, and becomes alarmed when in a net, therefore, use a container to transfer it.
The Arothron Dog Face Puffer needs a varied diet of meaty foods including; squid, krill, clams, and hard shelled shrimp to help wear down their ever growing teeth
🍒LIVESTOCK OF WEEK🍒 Red Cherry Shrimp make 🍒LIVESTOCK OF WEEK🍒

Red Cherry Shrimp make gorgeous and functional additions to any peaceful freshwater aquarium. Its brilliant red coloration adds a beautiful ornamental quality while its purposeful pursuit for algae and organic debris makes the Red Cherry Shrimp an invaluable aquarium cleanup crew.
The Red Cherry Shrimp have gained popularity thanks to their large appetite for all kinds of freshwater algae. These highly adaptable shrimp do well in any freshwater aquarium with good filtration and water quality. However, Red Cherry Shrimp will thrive in planted aquariums where food and shelter are abundant. Once established in their new home, these active freshwater shrimp are predominantly red in color with interludes of white. Keep in mind that new arrivals demonstrate varying degrees of "redness." They are often clear in appearance until they have properly acclimated and adjusted to their new environment.
If there is a male and female in your aquarium Red Cherry Shrimp will most likely breed. The female will carry a clutch of yellowish eggs under her tail until they hatch in about 30 days. The newly born shrimp will look like miniature adult shrimp and will eat the same thing as the adults. If breeding these shrimp, it is important to keep them in a breeder aquarium with a sponge filter. This added precaution helps maximize survival of young shrimp.
Like all invertebrates, Red Cherry Shrimp are sensitive to copper. Copper-based medications should never be used in aquariums housing ornamental invertebrates. Do not house Red Cherry Shrimp in aquariums with loaches, puffers, and other larger carnivores that will feed on invertebrates.
Red Cherry Shrimp are omnivores that will consume algae, detritus and left over food. If insufficient food is present, supplement with algae tablets or quality flake food or pellets.
